Current Job vacancies:

Production Assistant- Teatrino 2018-2019
Department: Props and Costume

The Role

Due to the enormity of the needs it meets, Teatrino, our TIE programme, requires a small production team. This team consists of talented, creative, pragmatic, flexible and dedicated individuals who are looking for a challenge.

This is a multi-faceted position so from day to day your duties will vary. You will start by maintaining, organising and collating our costumes and props department. Then you will move onto working behind the scenes for our October tour, which is a single tour of four people and lasts from October through to December. During this time you will support the cast, following their rehearsal process and helping them in securing that Teatrino’s October tour is successful.

There may also be opportunities for you to utilise any acting skills you have and shadow the October tour both during their rehearsal period and (in an emergency) whilst they are on tour. We will also require you to perform some light administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, emailing, spread sheet manipulation and public enquiries.

The most important part of your position however, will be to maintain the props and costume department. You need to collate and then organise all of the costumes and props needed for the tour. You must ensure that the required props, costumes and technical equipment are fixed, made, ordered and bought, and that the music, scripts and performance support materials are produced. Firstly for our smaller October tour and then also for our large-scale January tour. As you will be working alongside the artistic director there may also be opportunities during your time here where your creative input may be called upon.

What We Are Offering?

Wage: €800 per month
Accommodation is included (including bills)

Successful candidates may be offered other opportunities within Educo during the year, providing their qualifications meet the requirements for the other projects. Furthermore, if your skillset matches the requirements for a Teatrino actor or summer Camps Tutor position, you could also be considered for these. For more information on these opportunities, please see the other sections of our website.

Some information about Sanremo

You will work a two-minute-walk from the sea, and live in accommodation close to the centre of Sanremo

Sanremo is a city with about 57,000 inhabitants on the Mediterranean coast of western Liguria in northwestern Italy. It was founded in Roman times and is now best known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera and the host of many cultural events and festivals such as the Sanremo Music Festival and the Milan-Sanremo cycling classic. Sanremo is in the heart of the Italian Rivera. It is an hour from the French city of Nice and only half an hour from Monaco (Monte Carlo); it is also only 3 hours from Milan.

San Remo is the capital town of the Italian Riviera and is called the Town of Flowers. Its flowers are well known all over the world. This can be clearly seen in its luxuriant gardens, its colourful flowerbeds, in the town parks where tropical plants flourish. As a matter of fact, Sanremo’s views are fantastic and its architecture and landscape make this strip of land expanding up to the French boundary a real pearl of the Italian coast.

Its climate has been widely appreciated since the 1800s but its artistic heritage, permeated by that typically Ligurian shyness, is still largely unknown around the world. San Remo lies in a wide inlet between Capo Nero and Capo Verde. It is a place where ends meet. Its old town is called La Pigna and is characterised by perched houses, steep streets, covered alleys, and little squares, just a glimpse of the medieval times.

The modern town turned a village of fishermen into an elegant, famous Italian seaside resort. Sanremo is famous for its Casino, which was built in 1905 and is the undisputed realm of green cloth, roulette, and slot machines lovers. Sanremo is the town of art, culture, and sports: fishing, diving, canoeing, wind surfing, and motor boating – together with golfing, riding, swimming, baseball, and fitness facilities.

Applications for the 2018-2019 season are open until the position has been filled. We will not be accepting applications after Wednesday 8th August 2018. A short-listed number of applicants will be invited to a Skype interview on Friday 10th August 2018.
